Fractal art is created indirectly with the assistance of a computer by calculating fractal objects ( "a rough or fragmented geometric shape that can be split into parts, each of which is (at least approximately) a reduced-size copy of the whole,") and can be represented mathematically as a series of algorithmic equations or visually as images, such as those on the following pages.  I created these works by starting with random iterated fractal sequences which I then manipulated and worked to create the stylistically varied images you see here.
